CodeLance

Advanced Network Coding for Video Surveillance

The overall objective of CodeLance is the design of a network-coding based software product for video surveillance over wireless multihop networks to provide increased throughput, low latency, energy efficiency and security guarantees.

IQUADRAT will work on the benefits/drawbacks of the network coding and security technology with respect to the video distribution and video surveillance fields. This will allow us to evaluate the potential use of this technology in a broader range of video distribution applications, enhancing their market credentials and product portfolio through the introduction of cutting-edge technology, performed by network coding and security expert institutes.
IQUADRAT will provide the partners with a powerful systems level simulator to test network coding solutions for a video surveillance system. The advanced network coding techniques will be validated and compared with “conventional” video distribution systems. IQUADRAT will lead WP1 for the project architecture.

Partners: Center for Research and Technology Hellas, Instituto de Telecomunicações, IQUADRAT Informatica S.L., ACTICOM GMBH.
