Iquadrat has developed a fully customizable end-to-end IoT platform for smart building automation and sensing. It employs various sensors and actuators, to deliver comfort, security and energy efficiency in any kind of building. To ensure compatibility among the different parts of the platform, we offer customized sensors based on the individual needs of specific services. Moreover, as reliability and scalability are important for various use cases, state-of-the-art NFV/SDN and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) technologies ensure a remarkable performance will ultra-low latency and high reliability, offered conveniently with an easy to use graphical user interface (GUI). Through the GUI and occupancy sensors, it is possible to control the building status remotely, increasing thus the energy efficiency of the building by proactively adjusting environmental parameters of the building. To improve the safety in the building, audio-visual alarms can inform the occupants of the building in case of fire, and, finally, a face recognition system is able to identify the residents of the building for secure and fast property entry. Various of these sensors and actuators are part of a model house created to visualize and showcase the capabilities of the IQU IoT platform under a more representative environment.
